About Me

A Chapman University graduate with a Masters in Fine Arts in

Screenwriting and an undergraduate degree from Elon

University in Media Arts and Entertainment (with an emphasis

in Broadcast New Media and Cinema) and a Minor in Creative

Writing.

She enjoys creating and writing her own stories, particularly

young adult and world-building fantasy and has completed 9

feature screenplays and 8 pilots.

Her first book, Mist Island, was completed and published at the

age of 17. The sequel to Mist Island (Orcania), a collection of

short stories, and a picture book (My Name Is Charlie) have also

been published. Part of the sales of her picture book is donated

to non-kill animal shelters. She loves helping dogs find forever

homes through her Friday Fido series on Facebook for Paws

Place Dog Rescue.

A.E. Keener has won 21 national and international awards and

was a 2020 Page International Screenwriting Bronze Award

Winner in Family Film and a 2020 finalist in the Scholastic

Entertainment Fellowship for Kids and Family Content in the

Austin Film Festival. She also was a Nick (Nickelodeon) Script

First winner.
