About A.E. Keener

 

A. E. Keener is a Chapman University graduate with a Masters in Fine Arts in Screenwriting. Her undergraduate degree is from Elon University in Media Arts and Entertainment (with an emphasis in Broadcast New Media and Cinema) and a Minor in Creative Writing. 

From an early age, she has enjoyed creating and writing her own stories, particularly fantasy. Her first book, Mist Island, was completed and published at the age of 18.  The sequel to Mist Island (Orcania), a collection of short stories, and a picture book (My Name is Charlie) have also been published. Part of the sales of her picture book is donated to non-kill animal shelters. Recently, she finished a YA Fantasy/Mystery novel. 

She has completed 7 feature screenplays and 6 pilots. She has won 14 national and international awards and has placed in well known contests such as the Austin Film Festival and and Top 5 in the Final Draft Big Break Contest. She also was a Nick (Nickelodeon) Script First winner.
